Q. Are you bilingual?A. I strive to make my services accessible and enjoyable for everyone. While my primary language is English, I also have a basic understanding of essential French phrases related to face painting, such as "fermez les yeux" (close your eyes). In addition to verbal communication my signage is bilingual, offering instructions and important information in both French and English. I also use a variety of visual tools to effectively communicate with clients who may speak other languages. This ensures that all our guests, regardless of their language background, can easily enjoy my face painting services and leave with a smile.

Q. Do you use acrylic or craft paint? What are your safety and hygiene measures?A. NO. I use only cosmetic grade face paints which have been approved for makeup use. They contain antimicrobial preservatives that keep bacteria from growing on the water-based paints while being safe and gentle. To further ensure quality, I exclusively purchase my supplies from reputable distributors. Our products, including glitters for both Face Painting and Glitter Tattoos, adhere to stringent safety standards. The gel used for Festival Glitter is aloe vera-based while the glue for Glitter Tattoos is specifically formulated for safe use on the skin. You can trust that our materials are not only fun and colorful but also designed with your safety in mind. The safety and well-being of my clients is one of my top priorities. I adhere to stringent hygiene practices to ensure a safe experience for everyone. My brushes are meticulously cleaned between clients and each sponge is used only once per person. I bring extra sponges to every event and any used sponges are later sanitized at home. In addition, I exercise discretion and will not paint skin that exhibits any conditions such as conjunctivitis, cuts, sunburn, or other rash. I also take allergies seriously; if you have sensitive skin please request a patch test prior to being painted. I have been painting since 2012 and nobody has had a reaction but my motto is better to be safe than sorry!

Q. What is the cost of your services?A. I charge $100/hour for each of my services. For large events, I can hire additional face painters at the same hourly rate to accommodate more guests efficiently. Face Painting: I can paint approximately 15-18 people an hour when using my "Popular Designs" board, translating to around 3-4 minutes a person. This ensures that all guests can enjoy a creative and fun experience without long wait times. However, if you are hosting a smaller birthday party and would like custom designs, we can accommodate these special requests, though please be aware that they take more time to complete. Glitter Tattoos: I can tattoo approximately 12-14 people an hour. It's important to note that glitter tattoos involves multiple steps, including preparation and drying time, which means the process is inherently slower compared to face painting. My goal is to ensure each tattoo is done with precision and care. Travel: I attend events all over Atlantic Canada. For events outside the city of Moncton, there is a travel fee of 50 cents/km (this fee does not apply to events in Dieppe and Riverview). Please feel free to contact me for a detailed quote. Overtime: If you require additional time beyond what was originally booked, I can accommodate you if I do not have another event scheduled after yours. The overtime service is charged in half-hour increments at a rate of $50 per half-hour.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept and can I receive an invoice?A. I strive to make the payment process as convenient as possible for my clients. I accept payment upon arrival at your event. My accepted forms of payment include Cash, E-Transfer, Debit Card, Credit Card, and Business Cheques. Please note that I do not accept personal cheques. Please make payment out to Amy McKenna. Additionally, I can provide invoices upon your request.

Q. Do you bring everything or do we need to set up a table, chairs, or tent for you?A. I bring my own tall director's chair as I paint standing up so a chair is not required. I am happy to bring a table if needed. For outdoor events, I do require a canopy or covered shaded area to work comfortably in varying weather conditions. This ensures both my safety and the quality of my work.

Q. It's raining and I want to cancel my party. What do I do?A. I operate rain or shine to ensure that fun never stops. Unfortunately, I do not offer refunds for inclement weather so I strongly advise securing an alternate indoor location for your event in advance. However, in the rare event that police or government authorities shut down the roads due to extreme weather conditions, please get in touch with me. If you need to cancel your event for reasons other than weather, please notify me at least 48 hours in advance to avoid cancellation fees. Should you have any further questions or require assistance, feel free to reach out to us by email or call/text 1-506-626-4511.

Q. How can I easily remove face paint and glitter tattoos?A. FACE PAINTING: I use water-activated face paints to create beautiful and vibrant designs that bring smiles. These face paints are designed to easily wash off, typically lasting no more than a day. To remove the face paint, we recommend using liquid soap or a makeup remover like micellar water. Simply rub the cleanser in circles over the design, then wipe off with a wet face cloth. Excessive sweating or any water activity like swimming will smear the paint. It is not recommended to use baby wipes as it can cause reactions. Sometimes blue or green can stain dry skin and will need a second wash. If the design has dark colours like black it is recommend to use a dark cloth as some of the darker paints can stain light fabrics. GLITTER TATTOOS: I use a heavy-duty eyelash-type glue for applying my glitter tattoos, ensuring they last for several days. However, if you wish to remove your glitter tattoo earlier, you can follow these steps for safe removal: Apply an oil such as coconut, olive, or baby oil to the tattooed area. These oils help break down the glue. Alternatively, you can use rubbing alcohol for effective removal. For sensitive skin, we recommend using a mild soap and warm water. Rub the area gently in a circular motion to help loosen the glue. Enjoy your colorful look and rest easy knowing cleanup will be a breeze!
